Valley Ridge is a pretty community on the far western side of the city. It is north of the Trans-Canada Highway, west of Winsport Canada Olympic Park and along the hillside and banks of the Bow River. It’s between Stoney Trail on the east and the city limits on the west side.

The neighbourhood was built on the land where the Happy Valley recreational area once stood. Trees from this former campground and ski resort still stand in this community. Today, the popular 18-hole Valley Ridge golf course is surrounded by estate homes on lots as large as three acres.
