Signal Hill homes for sale are located in a large community in southwest Calgary that takes in the area south of 17 Ave SW to Glenmore Trail/Highway 8, west of Sarcee Trail SW and east of 69 St SW. This community includes the sub-communities of Signature Park, Sienna Hills and Signal Ridge.
The name of the community was taken from the large numbers written with 16,000 white stones on the south side of the “hill”. These stones were hauled by soldiers stationed at the air force base near this location during the First World War to signify their battalion numbers. Battalion Park was created in this spot in 1991.

Construction in Signal Hill began in 1985. The majority of real estate in the Signal Hill community is single family detached homes. Students in Signal Hill attend Battalion Park Elementary School; Separate school students attend St. Andrew and Holy Name (French) Schools. Junior high students attend A.E. Cross and Bishop Pinkham. Ernest Manning Senior High School is located on 69 St SW just west of Signal Park or Bishop Carroll.
