As the name might suggest, Highland Park, Calgary in the central northwest is located on high ground on the North Hill. This area was annexed by the City of Calgary during the pre-WWI real estate boom, but was not developed until after WWII when homes were needed for returning soldiers. Highland Park is located between 32 Ave NW and McKnight Blvd NW, to the west of Edmonton Trail NE and east of 4 St NW. A residential enclave called Queen’s Park Village, on the north end of Queen’s Park Cemetery, which is part of Highland Park. There is a redevelopment plan in place and many small post-war bungalows are coming down in favour of infill homes.
