Elbow Park Glencoe is a wealthy neighbourhood in inner-city southwest Calgary and among the oldest in the city. The land which was west of present day Elbow Drive to 14 St SW, and south of Council Way SW to the Elbow River, was annexed to the City in 1907. Construction began on fine homes in the neighbourhood, and the prestigious Glencoe Club, in 1910. Elbow Park was home to real estate developers, lawyers, doctors and executives of the Canadian Pacific Railway. Historic Christ Church is located in this neighbourhood, an Anglican church which has been attended by members of the Royal Family.

There are original bungalows on beautiful lots, grand character homes and new construction on lots as large as half an acre. Homes up the hill on the west side of the community were constructed in the 1950s and are not as expensive as the homes closer to Elbow Dr SW. The Glencoe Club is in Elbow Park, an exclusive members-only private club with complete recreational and social facilities. The community registered on January 18, 1930 as the Elbow Park Residents Association. Elbow Park itself is located in the centre of the community with a hall, tennis courts, hockey rink, toboggan hill and playground. Christ Church is next to this large green space. Residents are close to shopping, restaurants and bars along 4 St SW. Exclusive ladies boutiques and an upscale wine shop are just minutes north in Britannia. The historic Elbow Park School, built in the 1920s, has closed but students can attend nearby Rideau Park School or Earl Grey School just next door in Mount Royal.
