The community of Braeside in the heart of the southwest is named for the market garden and feed lot that was on that land prior to annexation by the City of Calgary. The neighbourhood is located between 14 St SW and 24 St SW to the east and west, and Southland Dr SW and Anderson Rd SW to the north and south.
Construction on homes began in 1965 and continued well into the 1970s. Braeside and Braeside Estates on the south east corner of the community, offer a variety of housing options from apartment-style condominiums and duplexes to single family homes. It is a diverse neighbourhood with a nice variety of family-friendly amenities.
