Number Three: Calgary French and International Thinks Globally

Calgary French and International has a rating of nine out of ten according to the Fraser Institute. With an average parent income of approximately $150 000, Calgary French and International school has an ESL percentage of 15.5 percent. The private school is a part of the Calgary French and International School Society, and is ranked 19th in a total of 782 Alberta schools.

Calgary French and International teaches all levels from Pre-K to Grade 12, and offers many services for students and their families. The impressive facilities feature two fully equipped cafeterias as well as libraries and resource rooms. There are also two full-sized gymnasiums available for rental on evenings and weekends. Transportation is available throughout Calgary, and Calgary French and International offers before and after-school programs to families of Kindergarten to Grade Six students.

The school is a part of the Calgary Catholic School District, and offers education at both the elementary and junior high levels. The average parent income for this school is around the same as that of Calgary French and International.

The school has an ESL percentage of 8.9, and has good programming for both ESL and special needs students. The test scores for St. Joan of Arc are high, with average scores in all subjects ranging from 76.0 to 85.0 percent. Language Arts for both the grade 3 and grade 6 levels represent the lowest scoring test results.

Number One: Webber Academy Tops Test Scores

Webber Academy is not just one of the best schools in Aspen Woods, it's also ranked by the Fraser Institute as the number one school in Alberta. With a perfect rating of 10, Webber Elementary caters to resident children with average parent income of just over $200 000. The school has maintained the number one spot for years, and regularly produces impressive test scores.

Located in a beautiful setting, Webber Academy's facilities include a Performing Arts Centre and cross-country trails that run through the aspens. The school offers education at all levels, and offers a Modern High School Science Centre for older students. With a mandate to be a university preparatory, co-educational, non-denominational, high quality accredited private school, Webber Academy has been recognized by Revenue Canada as a charitable organization.
