St. Andrew’s Heights is a northwest community built on a hill. It is situated immediately east of Foothills Medical Centre, between Crowchild Trail NW and 29 St NW, south of 16 Ave NW to Toronto Cres NW. About St Andrews Heights Real Estate
St. Andrew’s Heights is a smaller neighbourhood, and apart from a medical building on the northwest corner of the community, it is completely residential with a population of 1,700 and is an older neighbourhood with a median age of 45 years.
Calgary luxury homes on 50 to 75 foot wide lots in St. Andrew’s Heights are priced in the range of $2,235,000 to $2,495,000. The extra wide frontage has allowed Calgary new home builders to construct homes in excess of 5,000 square feet. This, combined with hilltop lots with south-facing views, is a big selling feature in this neighbourhood. There are condos on the west side of the community closer to the hospital, priced at under $385,000.
St Andrews Heights Community Features
The eastern hillside of St. Andrew’s Heights is well known across Calgary for excellent tobogganing in the winter. The park along the bottom of the hill is busy in the summer with baseball. Across University Drive NW is McMahon Stadium, owned by the University of Calgary and the home of the Calgary Stampeders Football Club. Next to that is Foothills Athletic Park with a track, hockey arenas and soccer fields. Shopping is nearby at Market Mall.
The Kensington area to the south is a very trendy Calgary neighbourhood with excellent restaurants and boutique shopping. Schools nearby include Briar Hill, Queen Elizabeth, University, Banff Trail and Our Lady of the Assumption.
