About Shawnessy Real Estate
The vast majority of Shawnessy real estate is single family detached homes, with a small number of apartment condos and town homes. Single family homes in the Shawnessy neighbourhood range in price from the high $300's to $600K, while condos and townhomes are available from the $200's to $300's.
Shawnessy is a 25-minute commute to downtown Calgary via Macleod Trail. Just a few traffic lights south is Marquis de Lorne Trail (Highway 22x) which connects with Stoney Trail, Calgary’s Ring Road. There is an LRT Station in the community at Shawnessy Station.

Families enjoy recreation in nearby Fish Creek Provincial Park and at the South Fish Creek Recreation Centre and adjacent YMCA. The community centre building is a big red barn, built in the 1920s, set in beautiful Shannon Park, 17 acres of green space in the heart of the community. Shawnessy Town Centre offers full-service shopping and reasonably priced restaurants. The Shawville Gate SW area offers a host of stores, services and movie theatres, with Southcentre Mall just a few kilometres to the north.
Students in Shawnessy attend Janet Johnstone Elementary School, Samuel W. Shaw School and Centennial Senior High School. Catholic students attend Father Doucet Elementary School and Bishop O’Byrne Senior High School located on 162 Ave SW.
