Richmond Park / Knob Hill Homes For Sale

The southwest neighbourhood of Richmond Park and Knob Hill rubs elbows with the communities adjacent to it.  The area dates back to the early 20th Century when it was annexed by the city.  A few brave real estate inventors built homes in this area, which is south of 17 Ave SW and north of 33 Ave SW, from about 20 St SW west to 25A St SW.  But the community didn’t really fill out until the 1950s. 

The name Knob Hill, which refers to the top of the hill off 17 Ave SW, is a somewhat humorous nod to San Francisco’s “Nob Hill”.   Richmond Road originates from the community.  A hundred years ago, this road was a wagon route from Calgary to the Tsuu T’ina Reserve.  Highway 8 to Bragg Creek follows the original trail.

About Richmond Park / Knob Hill Real Estate

Knob Hill School now houses the Calgary Arts Academy Charter School.  Other area schools include Richmond School, Killarney School, Holy Name, Sacred Heart, Bishop Pinkham, Central Memorial High School and Bishop Carroll High School.  The Viscount Bennett Centre at 26 Ave SW and Crowchild Trail is home to Chinook Learning (Continuing Education) and Westmount Charter Academy.
